It is a pest that infest plants in the cucumber family. They also transmit both bacterial wilt and mosaic virus disease.

It's food source is cabbage, kale, Brussels sprout, cauliflower, radish and mustard. It can be the most destructive pest of cabbage and related crops.

This Shield shape insects measuring about 3/8 inch long and is brilliantly colored  with red, orange, or yellow bands, stripes, and blotches decorating a black background.

Slugs are terrestrial gastropod mollusk, related to the snail.
