Lamium purpureum

Winter annual.
Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)
• Where found: roadsides, waste places, gardens
• Height: 4-12 inches
• Flower size: 1/4 inch long
• Flower color: lavender
• Flowering time: April to October


 

Spotted Spurge
Euphorbia maculata
Life cycle: Summer Annual

 Spotted spurge if found throughout the eastern half of the United States and also in California and Oregon. This plant primarily occurs as a weed of landscapes, nurseries, turfgrass, lawns, and some agronomic crops.


 

Purslane
Portulaca oleracea
Life Cycle: Warm season annual.

It can be a severe weed pest in vegetable crops and newly seeded turf.

 'Poison ivy'. Rhus radicans, syn. Toxicodendron radicans aka  Poison creeper, three-leafed ivy.

The leaves, stems, roots and berries contain a resin that causes serious allergic reaction (severe skin rash, blisters inflammation and itching) in about 80 percent of people that contact this plant in any way.

Physical control: Hoe or pull out and remove plant debris. Use mulch in landscaped areas.
Maintain a well-watered, properly fertilized and thick lawn to prevent these weeds from taken a hold in your grass. Do not cut the grass too short.
